Big or small dots?

Post by avij »

Moved from another thread.. OK, this is probably one of the smallest decisions yet but as it seems there are supporters for each of the options I thought I'll let the public decide. This poll will run for only 2 days, so vote quick.
Poutsi wrote:Now when the map is more accurate, is it possible to make the dots a little bit smaller? Or making them round would also help.
OK, here are some examples:
1) big dot (original), hit example
2) smaller rotated dot, hit example
3) bigger rotated dot, hit example

Which one do you prefer? Personally I prefer the bigger dots, those are faster to locate visually than tiny dots that are just a few pixels across. But if you want to have smaller dots then be it, let us know.

Hmm. Now when I see them both, the bigger one does look better.

Nice work guys :D !
I prefer the smaller dots. Maybe it's also possible to change the purple color. Purple is OK if the dot is located on land. But a purple dot near the sea is harder to see -for me-. But it's just a detail  .

But I also like some smaller dots. Maybe than I can see that I am living in Belgium.

Wow! The new map is awsome! 8O Look at all those details! Wow!

I prefer also smaller dots. It's still quite easy to locate the spot because countries aren't that big (you're still always able to see the country's name) and red color is easy to see.

It's great thing to see EBT evolving all the time. Keep making new features. Next new feature could be some sort of search engine for the site...

Sorry, I wrote quite unclear text. What I mean was, that when you select a bill or a hit to view it's location/travel route, you see it's location written in text. And after clicking on it, you see the map. So that's why I think it's pretty easy to locate even smaller dots, because you already know witch country to look at. Did I now make myself clear? :D

I prefer the smaller one.It looks like the diameter of such a dot is about 30
km! A bit too big in my opinion...

Actually I shouldn't claim credit for the new map, this was largely a team effort of EBT members. I just placed the finished map on the site, nothing more. I hope everyone understands this :)
